Companies that create the covers of video games like Xbox and Playstation are locked in what appears to be a strong rivalry for first place in the hearts of gamers worldwide. While both systems offer similar concepts, games and graphics, there are still those who have their favorites. Favorites mean more sales of a company or another. Then you must take into account the new developments taking place and when the covers back to the market. All this is very important for consumers who make purchases and companies that produce them.
This year was a good year and bad for Xbox. The launch of Xbox 360 model, which is believed to be the most advanced of all game systems on the market hit stores just in time for the Christmas rush. The shortage of systems that followed was good for business as new orders skyrocketed and many people told them to wait at least six months to see your new system. The secondary market for cutting and some of the machines were sold at prices three or four times the retail before the last day of Christmas shopping.
The only downfall for the company appears to have been an error in their eagerness reaching the market with the system. The new Xbox 360 worked on the same premise, a computer with a hard drive and processor. The system was released even before all mistakes were made and the games are close in the game. The manufacturer was quick to release a patch, but the damage was done.
The same is true for Playstation in front of good and bad. While the Playstation 2 was a very advanced and functional, with hundreds of games, they needed to launch something new and high technology. It was announced the Playstation 3 game system to the market, but gave no specific release date for the machine. Anticipation built in the months before Christmas and still not a word from Sony. Low and behold, Christmas came without a new version of Sony Playstation in the front, setting the company back millions of dollars market and allow Xbox 360 to take the lead.
Finally, in the spring of 2006 Sony announced that the launch date of the Playstation 3 would be further, as they face similar problems to the Xbox. This announcement helped the company in many ways, because people saw as a sign of the new machine would not have the flaws that come with the Xbox 360 that made everyone involved very happy. Still no definite date for the launch of Sony, but we can be sure that when the day comes, it will be a madhouse for people to pick up the new machine.
